Great screen and sound but lacks basic features
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice big screen and really nice sound from the JBL speakers are the high points along w/ pretty great performance from the SD 870 SoC. For the price it should have higher resolution which would make the screen even better. Since this device has a lot of space for ports it should have at least one more USB-C so if I need to charge while listening I don't have to have a docking station. The real killer for me is that it doesn't have a fingerprint reader which is a big pain and the main reason I'm returning the unit. Speaking of fingerprints, it shows them pretty badly. I like the form factor and the handle/stand is pretty slick. Should have come w/ pen at the price point also.

Lenovo tablets are now my favorite!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great tablet and best affordable bang for your bucks if you are willing to sacrifice the lack of back cam and sd card slot. Perfect for current gen 2022 gaming and using as a second monitor. High solid build quality great speakers and LCD display. The standing rod is the best accessory that every tablet needs. Lenovo is a great tablet maker and has my thanks for this great and cost affordable device.

Core Android OS, vibrant colors and also a Monitor
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this tablet for 2 years and its my favorite Android tablet o date. No extra software installed A la Samsung and is more like a pixel with its core Android OS. Also the HDMI in feature making this a stand alone monitor is the greatest feature on a tablet i have ever seen and i use it constantly!

Pleasantly surprised but ultimately returned.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was initially pleasantly surprised with this tablet, it's many unique features and capabilities. But after using it for a couple of weeks, the build and related premium cost, led me to return it. Here's why... The 13 inch screen was bright and colorful and maintained decent balancing, despite being an LCD panel. It was also fast and fluid, easily handling any tasks I threw at it. Games performed very well, both downloaded App store games and streaming - Xbox Cloud, Stadia, etc. The ability to use this tablet as a monitor was also a great feature, easily connecting to any PC or game system I tested. You can also connect it to a TV via a USB-C (to HDMI) cable, as it has a 3.1 input/output connection. Lastly, the sound was excellent, featuring 4 JBL speakers, the handle was very handy, whether using it as a stand or hanging it on a hook anywhere in my house. All really positive points. The issue I had unfortunately, was with the hardware and build of the product itself. I had also purchased the Yoga Tab 11 256gb for my wife and the "craftsmanship" between these two is significant - at nearly half the price. Now there certainly are other differences, some significant, other than price and 11 inches versus 13 inches, and I may add my brief review for that device next. But the build of the "premium", 13 inch Yoga is poor. The bottom constantly creaks and clicks when holding it, moving it in your hands from landscape to a vertical position. The handle does seem to be firm with the right amount of resistance. For a nearly $700 device, it was incredibly disappointing. And again, the build comparison with the 11 inch was night and day. The smaller device has none of the creaks and clicks despite being a near physical replica of the larger device. I would like to revisit this device if the next batch manufactured is able to eliminate the build defects, but given the slow sales of these products, this may be the only group produced. Unless you can overlook the build quality issues or perhaps if there is a significant price drop, I would hold off on purchasing for now. Check out the smaller, 11 inch Yoga though if you think you might enjoy the unique form factor. You will lose USB-C output and the ability to use it as an external monitor, but it feels incredibly durable, the sound is excellent and the processor has handled every task and game I have tried. And it's almost half the price. I hope someone found this helpful.

Nice hardware, shoddy and questionable support
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Owning and using this device for about a week, I like it, but some missing apps, bad app support for streaming with VUDU, and reading online about Lenovo's terrible update software (You buy it on Android 11, it's STUCK on Android 11, and then they announce new models to launch with Android 12, where the previous version of this is stuck on Android 10-- Not a good look for long term use) makes me lean toward bringing it back and looking elsewhere soon. It's not listed in the "included", but Lenovo at least does include a Micro HDMI to HDMI cable, so if you want to use it as a portable monitor with another device, you're covered on that. Works pretty well, where you tap the screen and basic options like switching from the native 16:10 aspect ratio to 16:9, and the brightness toggle too. Tried with both a Chromebook and a WIndows 10 device and each recognized it no issue; I imagine Macbook should as well, you would just need a USB-C to HDMI adapter or hub. Performance is snappy browsing through the menus, going into app overview to switch which app is in the foreground and didn't notice many video streaming apps losing place of where they were paused on. THe SD870 and 8GB RAM are a good pair! My issue for movies though is this tablet does NOT have a microSD card slot, so you're stuck with 128GB of storage for movies offline from apps or transferred to the tablet. HD movies from Netflix are compressed so a 90-minute movie is roughly 2 or so GB, so that's fine. But if you download your own ones with a higher bitrate and play with VLC Media player, higher quality 1080p rips can go from 3-5GB, so it adds up quick. My biggest complaint is app support. This device's stand only allows it to stay upright in landscape mode, but I figured I could lazily idle at desk with an incense and do Pokemon Go, but this tablet does NOT even show it in search results at all, so it's a no go! And for streaming movies, I primarily use VUDU, as I buy or redeem my digital codes in there and have over 3,000 movies in my library, but despite the device reporting from DRMInfo that it is L1 Widevine certified, and plays 1080p Netflix no issue, VUDU is SD 480p no matter what! Asked in a VUDU forum about this issue and a longtime moderator mentioned something about some devices not being compatible or blah blah, and specifically called out Lenovo as a brand notorious for not supporting HD 1080p on their app. This could be a VUDU thing, as they are known to be lazy with their app and blame "at the studios request, they want their title on all platforms to be SD on these devices/browsers", while their app/site is the only one having issue. Still, a much cheaper Samsung tablet has no issue streaming 1080p HD content, so this device being about $700 and having both known app support issues, and abandoning Android OS updates makes me want to cut the line before being stuck with an out of date in terms of software device. Played Dead by Daylight mobile perfectly fine on max settings, and that's the only game I tried on it. Looking at YouTUbe reviews though, it also had no major issues with Genshin Impact which is more demanding, but refer to those videos to see for yourself. Be very sure of what you want from this device, and exercise your own caution or research on Reddit or online forums/reviews most users long-term use of a Lenovo tablet and it's lack of OS updates and just releasing new models instead.
