Let me start by saying when I took it out of the box, that I was shocked at how small it was.
But,  don't let the small size fool you. 
This machine will split twice the diameter that it says it will do, and will do it all day long through the hardest of woods.
I've owned this splitter for a couple months now and I am really impressed!
If you are looking for a reliable and inexpensive splitter, this is the one to get!

Would reccomend this to everyone!

So far so good. I have used the Wen about 4 times in 45 minutes sessions splitting my purchased firewood even more to fit my small fireplace box. 
I haven't used it yet on larger, whole logs but I don't foresee any problems. 
The Wen is well built, easy to operate and a good value for the money

I heat my shop at home with a wood stove. I clear enough downed trees and limbs from my pasture each year to make a decent brush pile.

 Though it's what I'm used too,  I couldn't justify the cost of a larger gas engine powered splitter nor did I feel like dealing with a gummed up carburetor each year for no more splitting than I would be doing. 

After lots of research I hesitantly bought this splitter. I haven't regretted it all all. It shows up ready to work but you'll have to assemble the stand if you want to use it in that configuration. It's advertised to split up to 10” diameter logs and will handle slightly larger but it really tests the limits once you get beyond about 12”. 

So far I've split approx. a chord of wood in two settings and haven't seemed to over work this thing at all.

The stand is great. I can pull logs from the bed of my truck or even more convenient from the loader bucket on my tractor and I don't wear out my back.

Overall, if you understand the limitations of what you're getting, this thing is amazing! Just don't think it's going to split like a 37 Ton splitter because it won't. It will certainly do exactly what it's advertised to though!

Works great for my needs!

This splitter will handle much bigger straight grain rounds than its rated for.  Even of you het some with knots in them it still powers through them like a hot knife through butter! I busted up a cord of wood in just a few hours with mine. I recieved it about 1pm. Then 120pm I was already up and running after attaching the wheels and handle. By 430 PM I had split a full cord. I've been using a powrkraft electric splitter for the better part of a decade. Let's just say this wen splitter walked circles around the powrkraft! I'll be buying another wen very soon! My only complaint is FedEx had no respect for the way they treat the package while in thier hands. The outside of the box look like it had gone through a war zone. The styrofoam inside was all cracked up as well. But to my surprise it was perfectly fine. That is thanks to wen going the extra step to package it very well. Otherwise this thing is worth its weight in gold!

Worth every penny!

Very sceptical when purchasing because of it being electric, we split a lot of wood through the winter for out wood burner and dang I was priced wrong quickly! We have some big logs too, cherry, maple and oak and this splitter had no problem busting through it. Split about 2 truck loads so far and not one time did it have a problem!

I build a table that the splitter slides into to make it more convenient when splitting so the logs don't keep dropping in the floor.

When I purchased this I went the extra mile and added a single 20 amp breaker into my garage with a 12 gauge extension cord specifically for this splitter, and I'm glad I did! Doesn't trip the breaker one time or loose power thanks to that. Highly recommend not using a 15amp breaker with this.

Best bang for your buck!

Bought this for my husband and he loved it. Easy to assemble, good quality material.

Great splitter for price. Durable and smooth engine.  Cuts through logs well over recommended.  Welded a hatchet to frame. All in all awesome, definitely recommended.

Best splitter at price point!

This splitter is more rugged than it look in the pictures I have seen.  It is a heavy item so 2 people should assemble it on the wheeled frame.  The instructions for assembly were terrible.  The unit was not packaged as the instructions said and some of the bolts did not seem to be the correct size.  It is nice to have the splitter mounted on the stand which makes it easier to load logs.  I have seen pictures of people putting the splitter on pallets which makes more junk in the yard.  That being said it did a great job at splitting some challenging sized logs.  Once you get the feel of it you can split huge logs if you split from the edges first.  do be careful as with. Any splitter a piece of log can blast of in any direction.  Wear approriate protective gear.  I recommend it.

More rugged than it appears!  Size matters!

The box it came in was inside another box and the original box was covered with what looked like red paint and I got it all over me. Thanks a lot. The splitter itself works beautifully for what I need.

Messy packaging

Wasn't very satisfied.  Had a 5 ton Speeco that was probably around 10 years old and needing a replacement.  Here is how the Wen compares to the old splitter.  (1)Requires 2 hands to operate.  Old one took one hand.  This so called safety feature totally sucks!  I came up with a simple work around, but it is still not as good as the old one. (2)  The old splitter had 20.5 inch cylinder stroke.  The new one 14.5 inches.  This is a HUGE difference!  This means that sometime it will not completely split the log without using a spacer.  (3)  This is not an issue with the splitter, but be sure to check the hydraulic oil before using.  Mine was a quart low.   (4) The wheels are cheap plastic and spaced too close together.  Turns over easily  when moving it around.  This was also an issue with the old one.

I will have to take their word for it being 6.5 ton.  With the short travel and not being able to guide the log with one hand makes it difficult to tell.  

From what I can tell, all of these splitters are pretty much the same no matter what brand.  If I could find a new 5 ton just like my old splitter I would gladly give up the 1.5 ton.  Needlessly to say I think the manufacturer made a huge step backwards!

Read this before buying!

I have to return this because: 1: the turn on button is exactly below where you should put the log, and to keep it running you also need to keep the button down and simultaneously  push the handle at the right side of the machine. That means to keep the machine working, you must use both hands, which prevents you to hold the log. 2: I have connected  it to the plug that is wired to a 20 AMP circuit breaker .  However , the beaker trips every 10 second or less.  3: Basically, the machine is not able to do what it intends to do.
