I purchased this holster clip to replace one included in the complete iPhone 5s kit purchased 21 months ago. The prior clip broke from a fatigue stress fracture of the center phone clamp. This failure made the belt clip useless. I am a heavy user of the Otter Box iPhone 5s kit and I will purchase another kit for my next iPhone.

This is an exact replacement of the previous holster clip that came as a complete package for the iPhone 5s.

Things that need improvement of this product: The table top mode, or desktop reading position, is not very stable and it is hard to get the desired reading angle.

Replacement for one that broke

I had never dropped or broken a phone until I purchased my iPhone. I still drop it constantly. About 6 months ago, I had been dragging my finger against the broken glass of a sad abused phone. About 6 months ago, my manager upgraded his phone to a larger one, and gave me his old Otterbox since we had the same phone. The cracks have stayed exactly the same! With one crack running perfectly diagonally across my screen, one would expect every drop to worsen the state of my screen. Nope. Not since I put this Otterbox on over the cracks. It's been months now, and still running fine. Now it's finally time for a phone upgrade, and I've told my husband that I'm not getting a new phone ordered until I can afford an Otterbox first. Never again. OB forever.

Always Protected

The Otter Box w/ belt clip is always a great product but there is one important thing to know and that is the angle that you wear the belt clip. Wear the set up in the vertical position on the wrong side of your body and get in the car...broken belt clip. Try wearing it more parallel to your waist line so it does not get wedged between you body and a seat, sofa or chair!

Always a good buy

My Father had a stroke and had limited coordination on one side of his body, making dropping and handling things a problem.  When we got him an iPhone to help with accessibility, it was too thin and slick for him to utilize. The Defender gave him the grip he needed and has also protected from the inevitable drops.

After a Stroke

I have Otterbox covers on all of my family's phones. Two teenagers, my wife and myself have used for our Samsung Galaxy and Apple I phones.....and they fit great. They hold up to the drops, bangs and bumps great. Otterbox has stood behind their warranty, with NO QUESTIONS ASKED. They sent a new product immediately.
Will definitely keep using Otterbox.

Bought this for my sons new iPhone 5s. It's amazing! He can clip it into his back pack or belt and I don't have to worry about it falling. Loved that I can customize it to his favorite colors!

Amazing

This is my second Otterbox holster as the first one broke. BUT, it broke after 5 years of daily use!! For me that is a major positive. It also protected my phone against falls perfectly. As with my first Otterbox, I found the snap holder a bit too tight. But, with a simple nail file and 5 minutes of effort, the snap holds my phone in perfectly but allows the phone to snap out with just the right amount of resistance. I simply filed down the edge that contacts the Otterbox case a bit and it's fine.

Works great

The holster works great.  It protects the phone and makes it easy to have it readily available.  I clip it to my belt and have it where I can easily answer it, make a call, or send a text message.  This is the third holster I have had.  The thing I don't like about it is the first two I have had broke where the phone clips on, and the only solution is to replace it.

First one broke in a short time. The locking snap closure broke off and rendered the holster useless. Disappointed. Ordered replacement and hope it lasts longer. Works fine until it breaks, which seems to happen easily, if you are not careful. I should have asked for a free replacement, but was in a hurry.
