100+ Cherry Red Summer Glory Sedum has succulent bluish-green pointed leaves. Its sturdy, dark stems look wonderful with the carmine flowers. The Sedum flower with umbrella-like heads blooms from late summer until fall, and it has a height of 16 inches and spreads about the same amount. Sedum is a great choice for beds, borders, and it's especially stunning when planted in mass groupings. Attracts butterflies and bees. Sow Sedum seeds indoors 6 - 8 weeks before the last frost is expected. Use small pots or flats and sterile starter mix. Pre-moisten the starter mix and sow 5 - 7 seeds per container. The Sedum seed is exceptionally small, so only press the seed into the moistened soil, and do not cover it. Keep the Sedum seeds moist but not saturated until they germinate. If seeds do not germinate, a cold period is recommended. Place tray or pots into the refrigerator for 1 - 2 weeks, and then repeat the warm temperature again. Prefers to be planted in full sun and in well-drained even gritty soil. Perennial Sedum plants will tolerate most soil types and is drought resistant once it is established.
