Description:

These Interlocking Architectural Grade Rubber Pavers (2' X 2' X 2") (61 cm X 61 cm X 5 cm) are laid over the roofing membrane and interlocked together (see installation details). They weigh approximately 24.2 lbs each (6 pounds per square foot, 30 kg/m²), and are suitable to create a ballasted roof system (i.e., use a loose-laid non-adhered membrane). Backside has special drainage and stress design.

Construction:

The BLACK COLOR Paver base is manufactured from 100% recycled rubber and specially formulated binding agents. The top Black layer has elongated strands of recycled rubber that are coated with a black pigment. This color layer can wear over time in high traffic. Its not recommended next to carpeted areas (use the PREMIUM COLOR top version there).

Underlying Membrane Options:

The underlying base roofing can be .045 inch (1 mm) thick or .060 inch (1.5 mm) thick EPDM non-reinforced or reinforced EPDM membrane. Under the EPDM membrance can be roof insulation. Both the EPDM membrane and acceptable insulation can also be loose-laid over the substrate. Adjoining sheets of EPDM membrane are spliced together a minimum of 3 inches (8 cm) using specified Seam Adhesive or EPDM Primer and Seam Tape following the manufacturers recommended processes.

These Rubber Pavers are compatible with Roofing membranes and do not require installation of separate protective mats. The tiles lock together and also provide multi-directional water drainage patterns.

The pavers provide optimum membrane protection without limiting accessibility to the membrane. They create proper ballast and enable lower cost loose-laid (adhesive-free) roofing systems. The Rubber Paver System is ideal for roofs that require snow removal, those prone to heavy traffic or regular maintenance needs, where adhesive application is not possible.

The system also enables a ballasted structure wherein the insulation board can be loose-laid under the loose laid EPDM membrane (A VERY QUICK AND WEATHER FRIENDLY SYSTEM).
