    Great Washing Machine

Had to replace my basic Whirlpool HE washing machine. Went with the LG machine and so far I’m very satisfied with the product. Pros: Load balancing feature uses centrifugal force to balance load. Once filled machine will spin in both directions until load balances itself it does this after every cycle. It takes a little time to do this making for longer wash times but it does it well. I intentionally put just one pair of heavy jeans in with T-shirts and socks, no problem at all. Machine is very quiet in all cycles. Machine gets my clothes clean including whites. Spin cycle and being able to adjust rate of spin; on high/max my clothes dry in much less time. Nice to have a glass cover so you can look for potential load balance issues. No slam lid. Hot water selection is all hot water not the new HE method of blending hot with cold. Multiple soak times. Setting for waterproof clothing. Easy to level. Packaging has minimal corrugated to dispose of. Cons: if you have shelves or cabinets in laundry room you will need 57 1/2” to 58” for the lid to be able to open fully and stay open. This machine a little taller due to motor and drive being under wash tub. I missed this so not really a con just reality I should have measured when I went to look at machine. It’s 2-3 inches further out from wall than I would have liked. Again no big deal. Delayed start and rinse and spin only are combined in control panel. (Possibly confusing) Giant styrofoam piece to dispose of or recycle. That should be corrugated paper. I want to close by saying I’ve purchased tens of thousands of dollars from Best Buy over the years and never posted a review. I do today because there are some highly regarded reviews about this machine that I think are inaccurate in my experience. Insufficient manual: I consulted manual twice. Once to see if plastic inserts on intake piping needed to be removed. Manual made no mention to do so, so I didn’t. Second, to determine if Waterproof setting was what I thought it was. It was. Manual told me. Downloading the online manual was a breeze I have it in Apple Books should it be needed. Not enough water in tub: Thank the EPA. Don’t blame LG. I’m all for water conservation. So as long as my clothes are clean does it matter? The heavy duty setting should be renamed the Nostalgia setting because it operates very similarly to an old style washing machine. Deep water setting same answer. As long as the machine has settings to overcome the settings you do not agree with for water level is that a negative? Photo on left comforter from queen bed. Only reason not fully covered air pockets in comforter. Second photo high speed spin. Sorry they’re sideways. Time will tell through durability if this was a great purchase. The machine has allowed me to develop a very specific set of skills, if you are a piece of dirty laundry, I will find you; and I will wash you.

    Trusted Purchase

The people that write bad reviews about this machine clearly do not read the directions. The people that write that the water does not completely cover the load, do not read the directions. The directions clearly state that the water may not completely submerge the linen. But that does not mean it does not get clean. Less detergent and still clean is how the machine operates. I would rate this a five star yet, I received one error message that said I needed to return it to the selling agent. However after rearranging the load, everything has been working fine. I have owned this machine for a month now and other than what was already stated, I have had zero issues. It is quiet, efficient, and cleans just as well as any other machine I have ever used. The people that claim that water is left where you place the detergent, again have not read the directions. It is normal for water to be left in the detergent location. Per the directions, you are to leave the tray open with the lid open after use to evaporate the water. I have had zero issue with mildew or anything like that. Overall, this machine has everything that I need to wash anything from bedding to clothing to towels, etc. Definitely worth the money, and definitely worth a purchase. I read a lot of reviews prior to buying this machine. Let it be known, this is by far, the machine that you want to buy. Reasonably priced, and does what it needs you to do. Wash your clothes in an efficient manor. The people that say it's a hassle because the directions are not fully complete..... All you have to do is take a picture of the barcode in the directions and it downloads that section for you to read. It's not that difficult. The only thing I cannot comment on is how long it will last. But it's been great so far and because I read a lot of reviews prior to purchasing this machine, I figured I would let everybody know how it's been working. Knowing what I know now, I would definitely recommend this machine.

    Fast and efficient

So far I’m in love with my new LG washer. Keep in mind I was using a 14 year old whirlpool cabrio that basically stopped going through the proper cycles and took forever to wash one load. This LG is so fast and really gets my clothes clean. I still have some issues with stuck on stains on my kids’ clothes, but that’s mostly my fault for not pretreating the stains right away. It’s sort of fun to watch the cycles through the glass top. I hope this LG lives up to its reputation as one of the top washers in consumer reports and lasts for many years. No regrets so far, I’ll update if I run into any issues, but so far it’s amazing in every single way! By the way, I researched washers for over 6 months before I broke down and bought one, so believe me when I tell you this is one of the best out there in the price category I was aiming for ($600 and under). Also, it’s 57 inches tall with the lid open so I had to pull it further away from the wall than I would have liked because of my overhead cabinets, but I knew this ahead of time and it doesn’t bother me.
