I needed a lawn mower and I wanted one where I could get some exercise.  I chose the Troy built walk behind mower with big rear wheels.  I need the bigger rear wheels for our St. Augustine grass in Florida.  I am very happy with my purchase! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Great Lawn Mower

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great mower.  From dry tank, started on 2nd pull; 1st pull thereafter.  Rolls well, controls are easy to reach.  Air filters are pricey, and access to the spark plug is tight. BUT, the big issue is oil drain.  Someone should either be fired or required to perform free oil changes for all purchasers of this mower.  The tiny oil drain plug is on the side, at the base of the engine (even though there is a boss in the bottom casting that could have been drilled and threaded for a plug).  However, because the deck rises up from the engine mounting face, and the discharge cover is also located in-line with the drain plug, the drain is useless unless you just give up and let it all drain onto the deck.  Turning the mower on its side far enough to have the bulk of the oil not on the deck and discharge cover results in the oil all flowing to the top of the engine.  In fact, I finally just pulled the dipstick and drained as much as possible thru the fill tube.  I would give function of the unit an A or A+, but maintenance considerations (ease, cost) a D, at best.

Great Function; POOR Serviceability

the handle for setting the mower in motion is too far down. Have to over reach to grap handle to pull to mower handle to start front wheels moving. Also the clippings bag drags on ground when pulling mower backwards. I had to add a rope to the end of the bag to keep off ground.

not so good features

I bought a brand new TB105 140CC 21"cut push mower. Brought it home, unpacked it and got it ready for use. I poured in the engine oil supplied in the box. Filled the tank with gas and commenced to cutting my lawn. EVERY TIME I cut on a sidehill slope, the engine sputters and produces a HUGE burnt oil smoke plume. I shut down the mower, ley it sit for 10 minutes and checked the oil dipstick level, it's NOT overfilled. I've used it three times in the last month and it CONTINUES to do this when not mowing flat?level surfaces. Is there NOT an a crankcase baffle to control the oil slopping around when in use?

Troublesome Issue

Got this mower a couple weeks ago, and when then was out of town for some time. Looked forward to finally getting my lawn back under control, but when I tried all I got was paid in my shoulder. Motor locked up before I ordered the box

Purchased the Troy Bilt 21" 140cc push mower on 5/12/2021 and it didn't even last 30 days. Won't start, the discharge chute broke off and broke into two pieces. I wouldn't buy another Troy Bilt, very disappointed as this was a gift for my son. Nice gift.

One month old and already won't run
