I bought a new embroidery machine and I'm using SA156 bobbins and I realize that I bought 5 packs Brother SABOBBIN for my project runway sewing machine. I tried to fit this bobbin on my embroidery machine and it works although there is a number in the center of the bobbin that is 17 for SA156 bobbin and this bobbin number is 20. But I'm using it and never had any problems so far.

I wouldn't buy this one. I went to Brother.ca and from what I read, you can use the Singer Class 15 bobbins for your machine. I have a PE770 Embroidery machine and learned from their website that the bobbins for my embroidery machine will fit my new SQ9050 sewing machine.

Yes, they are the same! My manual for my Brother machine says the same as yours, and I recently tried a pack and they are the same! Go for it!

04-17-2018 Just got off the phone with Brother Customer Service; These are in fact the Brother SA156 bobbins and will fit any machine designated in its' manual to take the Brother SA156 bobbin.

I've been buying bobbins randomly over the years and although most look pretty similar, it turns out they are light-years different. I had been buying Singer bobbins in the size my Brother sewing machine takes, and I was literally ready to throw this machine across the room and smash it. I spent more time screaming, rethreading, and cutting stitches than actually producing anything. I had CONSTANT looping and lumps of thread on the underside. No matter what I did with the tension, the stitch, or the needle, nothing would correct it. I thought the machine was shot. Then I noticed Brother bobbins and although they cost slightly more than Singer, I figured I'd try them. That's when I noticed the tiniest differences. Brother bobbins are marked the same style and size as the Singer pack, but that's where the similarities end. Brother bobbins are completely flat, and sit the tiniest bit lower and wider than Singer bobbins which are also slightly rounded. Looking at them next to each other one might not even notice a difference, but I examined them and saw the subtle differences that made a world of difference. Once I started using these, my machine magically worked perfectly again, and the joy of sewing returned. I cannot believe how I was ready to not do anymore projects due to the sheer frustration of having to stop and start over again and again, but it turns out, it was all in the bobbin! Just because the packaging says  they can be used in other machines, doesn't mean they'll work as well as if you use the ones designed and intended for your machine specifically. My whole world changed.

From my research, it seems the part number SABOBBIN and SA156 are the same and here’s why:

I've done some research on some other Brother manuals and I've found this page (I’ve uploaded) from the internet. This page helped me fine out if the SABOBBIN part code was the same as the SA156 part code required for my SE400 Brother sewing machine. The bobbins that came with my SE400 and the SABOBBIN package from Wal-Mart were both made of plastic and totally clear.

It seems that the part number/code SA156 is used in U.S.A./Canada and the part number/code SABOBBIN is used ONLY in U.S.A.

Now, I got my ELECTRONIC DIGITAL CALIPER out and measured the SABOBBIN's (from Wal-Mart) and the SA156 that came with my Brother Sewing machine and found that all measurements were the SAME!!
FYI: I've noticed that there are numbers in the middle of the bobbins but don't seem to mean anything since all the sizes are the same. Maybe they have something to do with a lot number... who knows... All's I know is that they work fine on my Brother SE400...

I heard that there are other brother machines that the SABOBBIN bobbins don’t look nor fit the same. I would then (if not already done) look in the manual to see what THEIR sewing machine manual calls for (bobbin part number/code). If it doesn’t call for the SA156 then the SABOBBIN pack is not one you would want… But if it does, maybe there’s been an update as to what your sewing machine can use. I’ve had many products over the years that called for one part number to work and later updated to another part number that work just fine… Obviously, that’s a call you will have to research and later decide.

Now here’s some boring information:

The code "SA156" is a code/part number for the "AMERICAS":

And "SABOBBIN" is a code/part number for the "U.S.A."ONLY...

I like to load 4 with black and 4 with white, 
I buy these to make sure they work with my Brother. Twice the price of off=brand  bobbins, Worth it, to avoid problems

Ready-Freddy

Thia is my firsr Brother sewing machine and I wanted to keep with the suggestion to use only Brother accessories. Okay, so I bought generic, spent $8 and they didn't fit. Lessons learned. it's not just a bobbin. Compared to the others you can see that the plastic is thicker and doesn't have that rough edge from when they break them apart for packing. They were super affordable and delivered to me the next day.

Don't buy cheap, buy better, buy Brother!

These are quality bobbins and I use them for all sewing machines that take class 15 size bobbins. They are the same bobbins as sold on brother.com for twice the cost.  It's easy to miss seeing the tiny b embossed in one of the tiny circles on a flange...if you find the b, you'll always know which bobbins are brother bobbins class 15.

The package has Brother's name on it, but the bobbins are not suitable for some Brother sewing and embroidery machines. These bpbbins are perfectly flat on the top and bottom and are made of a completely colorless plastic. Some Brother machines use the same size bobbin, but shaped slightly different. Check the bobbins that came with your machine. If they are slightly curved on top and bottom, and the plastic has a lavender cast to the color, these sold at WalMart are not the bobbins for your machine. The curve determines how the thread is delivered to the needle. Bobbins that do not have this curve will fit into all Brother machines and work at first, but you may find that you have thread tangles, skipped stitches and thread breakage. I returned this product for a refund and purchased genuine Brother bobbins from a different online retailer.

I needed quick turn around. However, the delivery date was changed twice. Although dealing with a hectic schedule I had to go to the store to pick up item. The bobbins work fine, but don't depend upon prompt shipping from this vendor.
