- A: AnswerThe trick to shorten the cycle : (for a total time 35-40 mins) i use light to regular soil setting - use normal cycle and do NOT USE the TURBO WASH unless needed for very heavy soiled cloths like soccer uniforms. Do NOT use auto sensing for water. Use Deep water instead. The weighing and sensing takes alot of time. Plus I like extra water to clean unless you live in a drought dry area ( I experienced Harvey/ Ike / Rita and thunderstorms that dench Houston) plus - use 1 rinse with OR WITHOUT softener ( this is just a timing to add setting) If you read the manual - downloadable on internet using your model number- high water rinses the scum out of the drum better which means less damp water pockets that cause ofors in other models - especially front loaders. Recap: light soil or medium- Normal - Deep Water setting - 1 rinse and things move along nicely!

Q: QuestionDoes the lid lock on this one or are you able to open at any time to add something(8 answers)
A: AnswerLid on this unit stays unlocked until the rinse and spin cycles start... We were used to the old style Top loader and a lot has changed on the new models. The HE washers are definitely different from traditional, and I'm not sure if I'm really saving money on the water bill as we end up using the high water setting a lot. If I were choosing again today, would probably choose a traditional washer and go with a Speed Queen.Answered by BarginGuy
Q: QuestionHow long is the wash cycle from start to finish (ie. Normal setting)?(2 answers)
A: AnswerThe washer takes anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour to complete a cycle using the Normal Wash Cycle. Some other factors to consider is how long the machine takes to fill to do the laundry in the Normal Wash cycle and how much water pressure you have coming to the machine. This will affect how long it will take the washer to complete the cycle using Normal Wash.Answered by dppd
Q: QuestionIs it quiet? Does it have an insulated drum? or other feature to cut down on noise?(8 answers)
A: AnswerNo, it is extremely noisy. If I close the laundry room door, I can still hear it in the family room which is about 40 ft. away.Answered by Kath
Q: QuestionHow long is a complete wash cycle?(5 answers)
A: AnswerThe wash takes way to long. Deep water wash spins water out of my machine. I wish I Never bought new “He” machine. My dryer finishes before my wash does. Not good.Answered by Staircrazy

A: AnswerYes, They deliver and remove your old wash machine for a $15 feeAnswered by Alagunas
Q: QuestionPart of my bedding sheet is jam under the agitator, How can I solve this?(3 answers)
A: AnswerJust had this issue. I am sure you figured this out by now but for others...... Pop cap off top of agitator. There is a bolt at the bottom you have to remove. (ratchet set with long extension). Wiggle the agitator a bit to work it loose. Just had 3/4 of a bed sheet that got stuck in there.Answered by JOEJOE55

Love this washer!
The last Maytag I bought was in 1997. This is different a bit. Don't know why it was changed. I got it less than two days ago and I am already pleased with my purchase. This washer is beautiful. It's also QUIET so I don't understand the noise complaints. The knobs are all turnable knobs and not computerized flashy fluff that will short out and quit working on a whim. This is exactly what I wanted! Also there is an agitator. Whoever heard of a washing machine without one, that actually cleans anything? Might as well beat your clothes on a rock if you want them clean. It's not as crazy fast as some that spit water at you like a over caffeinated monster. I didn't notice the spin or vibration cycle so it can't be much. I only noticed subdued quiet sounds. I had to check if it was still on it's so low key. I heard no loud noises at all. I know my clothes were damp and spinned out well. This takes some work off of the matching Maytag dryer I got at the same time. I am happy and believe I will love this new Maytag set as much as my 1997 duo.

Great value for me and excellent instructions
I got this open box washer for less than $350 so of course I'm happy with it. I think it's double that new. For me the thing that matters most in a washer is how long it works and that's something I can't answer right now. But what I can say is that it's pretty large and I like how well it claims in the instruction manual that it washes clothes with cold water. So according to the instructions the cold water wash gets clothes cleaner and uses only a little more electricity than the warm wash. It has a bar graph chart showing 3 things for each mode, cleanliness, efficiency, and harshness on the cloths so it's very easy to see which mode would work best for your needs. It doesn't have any fancy LED displays but it's got all the features you need in a washer and it's very simple to operate. I rated it 5 stars based on the value I got on the discounted price but what you pay for it will likely not be the same.
