Customers are mixed about the quality of the kitchen mixer. Some mention that the heavy duty glass bowls are of good quality, while others say that it's cheaply made and the beaters broke easily.

70 customers mention35 positive35 negative

Customers are mixed about the speed control of the kitchen product. Some mention that it has lots of speed levels, the 12 mixing speeds are wonderful, and the variable speeds give more control. They also appreciate the fact that it ramps up to speed and thus avoids a lot of mixing. However, others say that the dial wouldn't change, the speed is hard to turn, and that the definition of the speeds is no longer written on the knob. They further complain that the ability to increase the speed begins working around 5, instead of at 1, and that it is still a little fast for flour or cocoa powder.

"...It has 12 speeds, the large bowl is plenty large to double recipes, the beaters remove easily, the bowls spin well, it’s not too noisy, doesn’t take..." Read more

"...Even when I turned the dial up, the speed wouldn't change. The beaters didn't move, and the inside of the mixer sounded like something was straining...." Read more

"...PROS:- Easy to assemble- Speed controls are great -- for mixing the cake I was baking I never went past 3; so it is very powerful.-..." Read more

"...I am pleased. I have the same complaint as other that it shakes should turn up speed!" Read more

Love my Sunbeam
5 Stars
Love my Sunbeam
I am so very happy with my recent purchase of a new Sunbeam mixer. I have been toying with buying a Kitchen aid as...they do look pretty cool and they must be better because they are so much more expensive, right? Well, reviews of the new mini Artisan and my past experience changed my mind and I couldn't be happier! My first experience with Sunbeam had to be over 40 years ago when my Mom used to use the heavy "I love Lucy" look a like version. I inherited that 25 years ago until it just died (rip). I then purchased my first Sunbeam mixmaster (I think I paid $39? ). It was much lighter than the old one but I used it and used it until it died about 15 years ago when I bought my second Mixmaster ($59? Maybe). Here we are 2016 and I still love it. I have been making my usual cookies, mashed potatoes, cheesecakes this week and I couldn't keep one of the beaters in. Time for a new mixer. (I think I caught the runner spatula in the beater while running and bent the beater insert). So, all set to buy my Kitchen aid until I did much research. Still too heavy, too costly, high bowls, no handle on top, etc. so, I decided to see if Sunbeam made my old mixer and low and behold they did! It didn't take me long to put it in my cart and have it to me the next day. I just made two cheesecakes for Christmas And I am so happy with it. By the way, it was only $89!!!! And also came with dough hooks and whisks. The only downfall is it came with glass bowls which were about 1-1/2Inches taller that my old ones making it slightly more difficult to add imgrefients while working. So, I just use my old 15 year old Noel's. Thank you Sunbeam for realizing that newer is not always improved or better!!!! Love my workhorse!!!
