I bought this inverter/generator to use during a power outage. I felt like I needed a power source that would not only keep us going, but would also be suitable for using and charging electronic devices. After reading the entire manual, I added oil and a gallon of ethanol free gas (which was hard to find) It started on the first pull, and ran smoothly. I connected a space heater to provide a load, and it never flinched. Over the next few hours I varied the load and switched between normal and economy mode. It ran smoothly under a load in both cases. I can't say how the noise compares with other generators, but if the power goes out, noise will be the least of my problems. I finally let it run out of fuel, changed the oil, and put it back in the box. The truth is, I hope I never need it. ... I bought this inverter/generator to use during a power outage. Don't get this if you are looking for quiet campground power!
The Champion Hybrid is definitely quieter than the old construction type generator. It's noticeably quieter when in eco mode and it only ramps up when the load dictates. I got it because it seemed like a good compromise between output power, efficiency, and noise. It has met my expectations but I'll only be using it for power outages at home. This is NOT the generator for a campground. Be courteous to your neighbors and get a true inverter. I hate to sound like everyone else but Hondas are the quietest power source I've encountered. What a great generator
I love this little generator, nice power and very reliable. Champion did a great job on this one, received it quickly and fired right up. Bought the wheel kit and cover separately . You can’t go wrong with this unit. Had been looking for this type of generator for some time. Would be a great addition to anyone’s back up power or RV needs. Going through breaking in right now clean pure power and strong motor. Get it while they have them!I love this little generator, nice power and very reliable. I ordered a refurbished one of these from Supergen products VIA E-bay on June 5th it was FEDEX shipped on the 6th and arrived at my address in the evening on the 9th, way ahead of schedule. I took it out of the box and it looks new to me. I added oil and put some gas in it and went to start it and the engine seemed to be locked up. With one arm holding the unit and the other trying to pull the starter rope it just would not turn over. I had to put both feet against the frame and pull with both hands and eventually the piston broke loose and the engine turned over. It started on the next pull. We will see how it pulls in the morning when I run it for 5 hrs "break in I ran it about 10 minutes, tonight. I plugged a drill into one of the 120 outlets and it turned. In ECO mode with no load ...
